Gunjan Soni

Gunjan is an independent legal consultant and researcher specializing in public international law, climate change law, and investment and international arbitration law. Her work focuses on how international legal regimes, whether in environmental law, trade, or dispute resolution, can be harnessed to address the climate crisis and strengthen accountability.

She currently works as an Assistant Professor at the School of Law, Mahindra University. In this role, she assists with curriculum development in international arbitration, international law, international investment law, and international environmental law.

Beyond her academic work, she collaborates with leading institutions, including the National University of Singapore (NUS), where she consults on climate governance research, and the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia Law School, where she reports on India’s climate litigation. She also co-leads the Indian National Front of the World’s Youth for Climate Justice, campaigning for the implementation of the ICJ's Advisory Opinion on Climate Change.

With an LL.M. in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from NUS and prior experience at the NUS Centre for International Law's Climate Change Law and Policy vertical, she brings both academic depth and practical expertise in bridging climate law, investment arbitration, and global governance.
