Maxim Bönnemann is a trained lawyer, researcher, and editor working at the intersection of comparative public law, climate governance, and democratic theory. He currently serves as Chief Editor of Verfassungsblog, a globally leading platform for public law scholarship and open-access legal commentary, and as an Affiliated Researcher at the Department of Public and Comparative Law at Humboldt University of Berlin. Maxim received his PhD from Humboldt University of Berlin, where his dissertation was awarded the Law School Prize for Best Doctoral Thesis in Public Law. He has taught courses on climate change and constitutional law at universities in Germany and abroad.
